It recharges well either plugged in to a electrical power source or by the rays of the sun. Recharges my cell without a hitch. Only complaint is utilizing the power switch for either flashlight or emergency strobe. Other than that I bought 3 and they are still in use. 2 of them in use for a year, and the last one for about a month. All work and and are made sturdy. Especially for the price.

It looks like it has a pair of light bulbs, and I find what looks like a power-on switch, but the lights do not come on even if I hold the switch for 5 seconds.

I will say this; the constant bombardment of multiple emails i received daily from the minute I placed the order was a real turnoff. So much so that I unsubscribed. The order tracking emails were helpful. The rest were a nuisance. How about one email a week with info on new product or a sale with a link to your product catalogue?

Delivery in the area 2 months in Mo. Charging, charging is not fast. Ordered 2 pcs, one compass shows correctly, the second does not, there is an air bubble, the lanterns work in two modes-bright and dim. One scratch on the solar panel.
